A Flood Watch is now in effect for the I-35 corridor and the Hill Country through 1 p.m. Thursday. AUSTIN, Texas — It has already been a wet week for Central Texas with some locations picking up more than six inches of rain over the past 24 hours. The tornado was spotted near Rolling Ridge Road near Schuelke, which is the northern part of the county. Some structure damage to an old schoolhouse was reported by officials with Caldwell County’s Office of Emergency Management. Property owners said the insulation and roof were taken off and that it looked like cotton candy was flying through their backyard, which they believed was caused by the tornado. A flood watch has been issued for Austin and the surrounding area, including Hays, Travis, Williamson and Comal counties, until 1 p.m. Thursday. This also includes the cities of San Marcos, New Braunfels and Georgetown.
