Saturday night’s tornado warning for Catawba, Iredell and Lincoln counties was an odd little storm. I can only assume we saw some kind of gustnado as it collided with an outflow boundary. The atmosphere was not really conducive for tornadoes, but these collisions can do weird things. The storm was moving almost due South, which was a little bit more South than the other storms Saturday. It was very isolated as were all the storms…

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Booming growth along with aging infrastructure and heavy rains are likely to blame for flooding in South End earlier this week. A woman captured video of a stranded driver on Ideal Way during a rainstorm. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services confirmed the nearby storm pipe is broken. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecasters said Thursday it’s now more likely that the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season will include above-normal hurricane activity. The NOAA released its updated hurricane season outlook, which now predicts 10 to 17 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher), with five to nine potentially becoming hurricanes (74 mph or higher). WASHINGTON (FOX 13) – U.S. weather officials are increasing the likelihood of an “above normal” hurricane season. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said now that the El Nino has ended, it means wind patterns and other environmental conditions are more favorable for developing storms. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – Business owners in Charlotte’s South End spent Tuesday cleaning up from flash floods caused heavy downpours Monday.
