11/5/18– The Wilmington Fire Department is making moves to help repair damage caused by Hurricane Florence.
The department’s headquarters on Market Street is closed–and administrators will work out of a site on Second Street.
Also–Station 5 on Wellington Avenue will only be open during the day–and crews will sleep elsewhere at night.
The repairs are expected to take six months.
