THE CHARLOTTE AREA:

The streak continues. Friday was the 15th day in a row of 90°+! This is the 22nd longest streak on record for Charlotte and if we hit 90 today, this streak will continue to at least 19 days which would tie for the 5th most all time longest 90° stretch. Highs today will be in the low 90’s and will feel like the mid 90’s Clouds will mix with blue sky through the afternoon and will likely become more numerous due to storms this afternoon. Thunderstorms will start popping across the area after 2PM to about 9PM (around sunset).

Tomorrow will be very similar to today. Sunday is trending a couple degrees warmer than today and will feel like to upper 90’s to around 100° at times during the afternoon. Not everyone will see storms but if you do, expect up to 1-2 hours of heavy rain and downpours.

Next week: The 90’s continue. The mid 90’s are even expected Sunday – Tuesday. Each day will have a chance for an isolated to scattered thunderstorm but a nearby front the middle of the week could inspire more widespread thunderstorms Wednesday-Friday. The tropics are getting more active but the Carolinas will be Tropical Disturbance free at least for the next 7 days.
