Severe storms and flooding likely again on Sunday

AUSTIN, Texas — RELATED: Updates: Spring thunderstorms drench Central Texas
Another disturbance will move out of northeastern Mexico and into Texas early Sunday morning. This will be the focus for additional shower and storm chances for Central Texas after sunrise Sunday.

Once the storms begin, some areas could easily begin accumulating water in low-lying areas that received a decent soaking on Saturday. Small hail is also likely along with lots of thunder and lightning.

Damaging wind gusts upwards of 30 to 40mph cannot be ruled out along with the possible development of funnel clouds and isolated spin up tornadoes.

Widespread showers and storms will be in place through at least through late-morning and the early afternoon today.

Some of the storms on Sunday morning could be severe. Storms producing hail, strong winds and isolated tornadoes will be possible. The severe weather threat is “Slight” or a 2 out of 5.

Because of heavy rainfall on Saturday, Flash Flooding will also be a threat on Sunday. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Sunday afternoon for parts of the area.
