HOUSTON — Many residents across the Houston area spent Saturday afternoon cleaning up the damage left by a barrage of storms that hit the region Friday into early Saturday morning. Giant trees smashed into homes, a school was flooded and a young elementary school teacher was killed. HOUSTON – The National Weather Service has rated three tornado touchdowns during Friday’s thunderstorms.  An EF0 tornado touchdown down in Eagle Lake another in Tomball, and an EF2 touched down in La Grange.  The damage in the Kingwood area was determined to be from straight line winds. HOUSTON — A tornado briefly touched down in Tomball on Friday, the National Weather Service confirmed. There were no reports of injuries.
