A child is in the hospital after being shot during a robbery. Police responded to shots fired at the T-Mobile store on Tidwell at Airline in North Houston. According to police, a 6-year-old across the street was hit by one of the bullets. Hundreds of Texas firefighters started heading to California on Monday morning to help battle wildfires burning in Southern California.  Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Sunday that 200 firefighters, 55 fire engines and personnel from the Texas A&M Forest Service will be on their way. The Woolsey Fire, burning just northwest of Los Angeles, had scorched more than 83,000 acres as of Sunday and is only 10 percent contained. At least two people have died. Meantime, at…

HOUSTON, TX – Texas firefighters are answering the call to help the California firefighters after the deadly wildfires have devastated California communities.  Texas is now deploying 200 firefighters to the California.   At least 31 people have died so far and hundreds are unaccounted for. The Camp Fire  in Northern California is just 25% contained, and the Woolsey fire in Southern California is just 15% contained. GALVESTON, Texas (FOX 26) – The six-month long Texas oyster season has begun with signs of recovery after Hurricane Harvey. Most of Galveston Bay’s oyster reefs have been closed for more than a year. Much of the storm’s record-setting rainfall flowed into Galveston Bay. Fresh water is toxic to the oysters, and the runoff killed much of the bay’s population. A Houston man was arrested in Florida after police say he fatally shot one of his coworkers while at a bus stop. According to authorities, Ledesma Vonzell Wooden, 24, and a few other Houstonians were in Florida to help with relief efforts in Panama City after Hurricane Michael swept through the area.
