HOUSTON — Dr. Phil Klotzbach and his team of researchers at Colorado State University have unveiled their forecast for the upcoming 2019 Atlantic hurricane season. They’re calling for a slightly below-average season in terms of total storms expected. The forecast calls for 13 named storms, five hurricanes and two major hurricanes. HOUSTON – Meteorologists at Accuweather issued their forecast Wednesday for this year’s hurricane season. Forecasters at the weather company said 12 to 14 named storms are expected this year in the Atlantic Ocean. Of those storms, five to seven are forecast to become hurricanes and two to four of those are forecast to become major hurricanes.
